Nikos is a Managing Partner and the Chief Investment Officer of IA Global Ventures, where he plays a leading role in all aspects of the fund’s operation—from fundraising and investor relations to sourcing investments and post-investment management. With a strong passion for nurturing foreign-born entrepreneurs in the U.S. market, Nikos leverages his own experiences as an entrepreneur who made the journey from Greece to the United States.
Before launching IA Global Ventures, Nikos was the Managing Partner at Rex Tech Ventures. There, he spearheaded the launch of 10 technology companies in diverse areas such as PropTech, InsureTech, and FinTech. He continues to serve as an advisor to Rex Tech Ventures, offering insights on investor relations and financing strategy.
Prior to this, Nikos spent six years at Kairos Ventures, initially joining as an Advisor to the GP and later becoming COO and Regional Partner. During his tenure, he implemented crucial internal operating processes, expanded the firm’s academic partnerships, and was instrumental in achieving a five-fold growth in assets under management. He served on the boards of 11 companies and oversaw two acquisitions. He continues to serve on the boards of two Kairos Ventures portfolio companies as an Independent Director.
Nikos’ transition into venture capital was a natural evolution from his 16-year career as a software entrepreneur. He founded Upstream, one of the world’s first mobile interactivity companies, which now serves over 250 million mobile subscribers across more than 50 countries. Later, he founded Lingospot, an artificial intelligence-based firm that was eventually acquired by Piksel. Following the acquisition, Nikos continued to lead business development at Piksel, expanding its footprint in European markets.
Nikos entered the world of high finance as an Investment Banking Analyst at Credit Suisse in New York. It was there that he honed his financial modeling skills and gained valuable experience in M&A and public offering transactions.
Nikos has called Austin home since 2016, enjoying the vibrant city with his wife and 14-year-old son.
